This just in over the weekend (and posted up several days late)
WHERE ART THOU, AIRDATE?!!
And on a side note: lovely to see him getting to know Nicola - "Lucas is kind of amused by Ruth, just as I am by Nicola - she's very funny". (Bit of life mirroring art with him/Lucas looking on as the team 'welcomes' Nicola/Ruth back into the fold, I'd imagine.)

How is it that I'm this rubbish at remembering to link and meme awesome interviews? Or rather, a singularly amazing interview by Richard Armitage. That one can find equal pleasure in oogling at his fine dark looks AND admiring his intelligent brain... we need more of this calibre of actor on our screens.
Or just more of Richard.

This man is unreal. In the best possible way.

Because finales are never meant to be easy, and there are inherent dangers in getting attached to a fandom, even with its crack and retcon, bad writing and all.
In other words, I badly need to write something before I burst a major vessel and haemorrhage messily all over my laptop.

In which Guy was hot, Robin was likable(!) and the backstory made me go all Huh-whuh?

So I should be doing revision for exams. But this is how things go when fandoms consume your brain.
It was an enjoyable enough episode. Better than 3x07, but 3x06 was a hard act to follow. Looking forward to Saturday, I am.
My ramblings throughout the episode, as follows:

Because it's just too funny when you're idly channel-surfing, minding your own business, and suddenly your cushions are almost covered in tea.
Been meaning to catalogue my findings for some time. And never a better time than when an assignment is due by the end of the week.

Because while they both shared similar elements that come with summer blockbuster territory, Star Trek managed to do them right!
Characters: Both had ensemble casts but Wolverine slid too far into a one-man show - Dom Meriadoc Monaghan was on for 30 seconds! - and went down the wrong permutation of doing less with more. On the other hand, the crew of the Enterprise came into their own and had their distinctive marks to make; even other side characters like the Kelvin crew, or the Vulcan High Comm.
Effects: Was it just me, or were there bits of the Wolverine FX that just looked poor. Seriously, did half the budget go to the cast's salaries?
Plot: In general, the Star Trek story made a lot more sense, or at least was easier to follow without thinking that the writers have dumbed it down for mass consumption by adolescent males. Character development is crucial to the success of your story line, no matter what the people at Fox or ILM tell you.
Music: The Star Trek overtures were suitably grandiose, and while the battle sequence soundtrack can be a little obvious in emotional manipulation, it still gave me goosebumps. And no, I don't remember the Wolverine OST.
Battle of the Blockbusters! Next up = Terminator Salvation.

I just know it.
And I'm a little late to the game, and Dreamwidth just exploded over yonder cyber field, but now's as good a time to start as any.

What are you supposed to write in a first post anyway?
